This is the best batman movie held together by a compelling plot. There's nothing left to comment on the movie because there is an already created hype surrounding it, but with certainty I can say the hype is not without a reason.

The story is about Batman not showing himself for a long time until the end of ten years. Jason Todd's death keeps haunting him but he feels the strong urge to return to the streets of Gotham that are on the verge of falling apart. Fear grips the city as there is a new gang 'Mutants', who are engaged in hard core criminal activities. Harvey Dent who recovers from physical and psychological illness resumes his criminal activities and Batman is left with no choice than to return. He begins with a rescue of two girls who are nearly mugged by the mutants.

News agencies report that a bat-like creature has been sighted on Gotham's south side and injured three of the burglars. Criminals lie wounded all over the place and everyone suspects a re-entry of the Batman.
Throughout the movie, you are taken through midair fights and rescues, explosions, vehicle flips and other pulsating actions that make you stumble.

Everything about the movie is just too good and there's not even a bit offering grounds for annoyance. Late Heath Ledger's dazzling performance deserves all adulation and you are made to all the more lament his death in January, 2008. It's sad that we won't have anymore of this splendour from Ledger who has rendered more than performance in the terrorizing character he plays.

Frank Miller, has showcased his ability as a writer by writing two of the Batman stories which are also the two best ones in the series. He is responsible for restoring the dark character of Batman and it is in this book that Batman has been revolutionized. The movie is truly a stunner of Christopher Nolan, the smart director, that leaves you staggering by the complexities mired in the flick which has received unanimous praise.

The narrative is yet another praise worthy aspect of the film. It is thrilling to see batman in near death conflict situations with the police and finally with the Joker.

Christian Nolan, has made the movie relevant to the time which is very different from its predecessor 'The Batman Begins'. The preachy bits of the good triumphing over evil has been reduced substantially and the cast makes up for the gratuitous parts found here and there. Indeed, Batman returns with a bang.
